Why “Huerta’s Orchard”?
The name “Huerta” means “orchard” or “garden” in Spanish, so “Huerta’s Orchard” is like saying “Orchard’s Orchard”—a little bit of wordplay that reflects our fun roots and our mission! Just like an orchard, we believe in cultivating community and giving new life to gently-loved items. Our small, family-run project is all about offering items we have treasured but have served its purpose here. We aspire to circulate charming quality items back into our community to bring joy to new owners (keeping beautiful things from going to the landfill). All the while, we hope you'd honor this by supporting with a monetary exchange. Pocket change raised from our gently-loved treasures will support our family's and communities extracurriculars. Possibly acquiring new treasures to then circulate back in the near future. We’re proud to blend a sense of growth, creativity, fun, and family tradition into everything we do. Huerta’s Orchard started as a mother-daughter project to support middle school extracurricular activities while also making a positive impact on our community. Instead of letting perfectly good items go to the landfill, we give them a new home at prices kids can afford. It’s our way of promoting sustainability while empowering young girls to support their passions.
